Welcome back to an exciting 2009-2010 school year. We hope you had a wonderful summer enjoying your kids and making some great family memories. We realize how important your children and their education are to you. Nixon PTA invites you to join us to make a difference in the education and quality of life for your children.
PTA has been going strong at Nixon since 1987. We are here to help you, our teachers and school, and especially our children. Last year, we were able to raise enough money to fund programs, purchase items the teachers needed, and purchase some playground equipment – thank you! We sponsor programs such as:
- Drug Awareness (Red Ribbon Week)
- Reading Program
- Career Day
- Meet the Masters and VAPA Program (Music and Arts)
- Technology Development
- Fieldtrips, Family Fun Nights, and much more
Our goals this year are simple: encourage our students to achieve their educational goals, strive to make healthy choices, and let them know they are valued! With your help, we will be able to fund the above programs, achieve our goals, and much more.
Be on the look out for PTA activities and programs. If you see any of the PTA board members or committee chairs around campus, please don’t hesitate to ask us questions. You can also e-mail the PTA at patnixonpta@gmail.com. Let me encourage you, if you have a couple of hours during your week or month to volunteer in your child’s classroom or volunteer at one of the PTA events. Your children will be so proud knowing that you value their school just as much as they do.
