Mission Statement

The mission of Pat Nixon Elementary School is to provide a comprehensive educational program for all students in a challenging, safe, and nurturing environment.

Through excellence in education, the staff will create a foundation on which to build informed, productive, and participatory citizens who are willing to continue their own self-development. To achieve this goal, the school community is committed to instilling in each student the ability to apply knowledge to new situations, gather and analyze new information, employ critical thinking, engage in critical analysis, develop convincing arguments, communicate clearly and effectively (both orally and written), solve problems individually and in groups, and become lifelong learners.

The staff and administration at Patricia Nixon Elementary recognize that the key to successful learning is maintaining a strong partnership between the home, school and community. We work in a collaborative spirit to ensure an instructional program that balances basic skills with critical thinking, enrichment and rigor. Character development is a school wide focus in which the staff supports the students to become responsible, participating citizens in a diverse and ever changing society.

Parent and Community Involvement

The parents at Patricia Nixon School are the school’s number one partner in education. An active PTA, School Site Council, the Nixon Foundation, and numerous community volunteers work in collaboration with the school staff and administration to ensure success for each child. The fundraising efforts supported by these volunteers have afforded the students extended and enriched learning opportunities through field trips, assemblies, state of the art technology and much more.
